What are architecture awards and why are they important? At the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) we are committed to ensuring that the benefits of good
architecture are understood and valued in Scotland, by everyone.
The pandemic has highlighted the importance of space and the role of the built environment, and the awards enable us to showcase outstanding projects built in Scotland. Unfortunately, this year, due to COVID-19 we felt that we
could not judge the projects safely in person and the awards have been postponed until 2021.
While we are waiting for a safe time, with the support of The Scottish Government we wish to share the exemplary RIAS 2020 shortlist with you via this digital showcase; to be able to share it far and wide, to generate discussion,
celebrate exemplar Scottish projects and inspire futures!
